Artist Statement
My ceramic artwork is a playful and nostalgic exploration of pop culture influences, drawing inspiration from the sugary delights of candy, the bold and colorful aesthetics of the 1980s, the vintage charm of old movies and signage, and the wanderlust evoked by vintage travel. The desert, with its vast and otherworldly landscapes, also plays a significant role in shaping the visual language of my work. Through the medium of ceramics, I create brightly glossy, highly-saturated pieces that are whimsical and invite the viewer to indulge in a world of playful nostalgia.
I fire to ∆05 (low fire earthenware) in an electric kiln.
