History:

  • The first organizational meeting for BBAC took place in September 2004
  • By November 2004 we had the use of a building on 6th Street in downtown Alpine and had our first fundraiser, The 2004 $25/sq. ft Show
  • We were given use of this building rent-free for our first year, 2005,  from the Holland Lofts
  • In Sept. 05 we received our 501(c)3 status as a not for profit organization

BBAC is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 corporation and the board of directors has the policy-making, legal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization. The board is the governing body of BBAC, with 7-11 members, and four elected officers. It appoints and elects itself, thus reducing the liability to the board rather than the membership. Board members are currently very active in the all exhibits, building construction/maintenance, and the hands-on management of the gallery and organization. BBAC currently has nine board members.
