PAINTING ALPINE

Schedule of Activities
Friday August 30th
- Meet and Greet at the Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross University, from 5-8 pm.
Saturday August 31st
- Paint out at Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute (CDRI), Fort Davis, from 8:00 am -12:00 noon
- Lunch on your own in Ft. Davis or Alpine
- Paint on your own at Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm
- Downtown Ft. Davis or downtown Alpine
Other good areas: paint the Fort Davis Fort, Paisano Pass, Alpine.
Sunday, September 1st
- Paint out at Wasserman Wranch outside of Alpine (limited to 30 participants), 8:00 am - 12:00 noon
- Lunch on your own in Alpine
- Sidewalk sale at Alpine Public Library, from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
- Joint Reception: CatchLight Gallery and Gallery on the Square, in Alpine, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Monday, September 2nd

- Lunch on your own in Terlingua
- Paint in Terlingua
Option #2 River Road Route FM 170 (limited to 10 participants)
- Driving Tour
- Lunch on your own in Presidio, Texas
Option #3 Marathon
- Paint Gage Gardens (check availability; limited to 30 participants)
- Lunch on your own at White Buffalo/Brick Vault
- Paint the courtyard of Eve’s Garden (limited to 30 participants)

Enter the BBAC Plein Air Art Show
If you are a BBAC Member, it's not too late to enter the annual BBAC Plein Air Art Show, which begins on August 15th. Just complete the entry form and submit your work by August 14 at Gallery on the Square.
Entry fee:
$5.00 BBAC Members
$30.00 for Non Members (includes membership to BBAC)

Current BBAC members, please pay when delivering your work to the gallery.

* Participants must be 18 years or older.

The deadline for emailing or postmark for mailing is August 20, 2019.
Registration includes:
- Access to paint on approved private properties during the event
- Free entrance to select attractions
- Refreshments
- Souvenir bag and more
CHECK IN AND SET UP
- Friday, August 28 from noon-8 pm at the Museum of the Big Bend.
- Check in IN PERSON on August 31 at CDRI (water provided)
- A Paint Out ID Badge must be worn while working on location and event flags must be displayed at easels.
FIELD LOCATION VERIFICATION
Artists must notify BBAC of their field locations by emailing info@bigbendartscouncil.org
A Location Log will be posted in Gallery on the Square. Artists may work in and around Alpine.
Artists must ask permission to paint on private property. Maps and suggested sites will be provided. Artists may display or sell artwork and distribute personal promotional materials while in the field.
WET ROOM
Works-in-progress and finished works may be stored in the Education room of Museum of the Big Bend.
