Harlan Whatley
Harlan Whatley is a new BBAC member and welcomed artist, based in West Texas, whose media includes colored and
graphite pencil on paper and acrylic on canvas. Whatley studied drawing with Dagan Sherman
at Midland College and color/composition with Ronnie Landfield at the Art Students League of
New York. Whatley’s work experiments with bricolage and pointillism.
Whatley holds a BA from
the College of Charleston, an MA from the University of Texas – Permian Basin and an MFA
from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Whatley is a member of the Arts
Council of Midland and the Big Bend Arts Council.
