It was only by a stroke of luck (marrying husband, Andy) that Bea happened to become a painter and come to live in the Big Bend area. Shortly after marrying they visited Alpine TX. As they traveled, there were bluebonnets by the side of the road. Bea painted one for their son, Daniel, (who is also very artistic). After seeing the painting, Andy suggested that Bea should pursue a career in Art. After a few inquiries Andy found work At Sul Ross State University and Bea found herself enrolled for a watercolor class! The rest is history. In 1999 she graduated suma cum laude with a degree in Fine Arts. After graduation, they moved to BBNP. Working there opened opportunities for her in the park service, and as a painter. They lived there until 2008, when they moved to Valentine, TX.
Andy and Bea have 3 other children, Christie, Jennifer, and Thomas. Christie has three daughters; Danielle, Salena, and Natalie. Danielle has a little boy, Damon.
