ArtWalk is just around the corner!

We had a BBAC meeting last Sunday and discussed several items:

Call for Art!

Our Annual Membership Show begins on November 7th. Take in of Artwork is November 3, 4, and 5 at GOTS Gallery. Entry forms will be at the Gallery. Remember, entry into the show is $25.00 which is the yearly membership fee. If you have recently joined (since September) you are a member in good standing. There is no theme. Size limitations: no larger than 40 by 40.

This show will run through January 7, 2014, so have a reserve piece to replace the one you sell!

Speaking of ArtWalk: The Alpineartwalk.com website is up with the current location information. The BBAC website has a link on this site. If you want to have your artwork featured on the BBAC website and have not done so, PLEASE send us your artist statement and pictures of your work. This is a time that many people may be looking at what artists they may see during ArtWalk. Send your statements/pics to Mary Paloma: spottedslinky55@gmail.com or Jan Moeller: janmoeller@bigbend.net so that we may get it on the website.

The Annual Fundraiser for the Alpine Public Library is held over ArtWalk weekend. They are soliciting donations of Art for this fun event. Forms for donations are available at GOTS and CatchLight Galleries. Donations can be dropped off at either Gallery, but please notify either Carol Fairlie or Kathy Bork when they are dropped off. Storage space is at a minimum at the galleries. Carol: fairlie@sulross.edu Kathy: borkedit@sbcglobal.net

George Covington’s column, High Desert Sketches, is available in the Big Bend Sentinel but if you would like to receive the column by email, please send a request to George at: gcovington@mac.com

The BBAC membership year begins on November 1. Postcards are going out now for renewal/membership for the 2013-2014 year.

Our Christmas Party will be held on December 18th, 6pm at GOTS Gallery. There will be an optional gift exchange. If you want to bring a gift, please bring new or very lightly used art materials (under $ 12.00) to the party. Wine and water will be provided and everyone is encouraged to bring a snack!

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thanks!

Jan
